Author Bio

Crazy woman from a remote location in Alaska (where the need for a creative mind is a necessity!), I have been writing since ... forever? Yeah, that sounds about right. I have been told that I remind people of Lucille Ball - I also see shades of Jennifer Saunders, and Denis Leary. So basically, I laugh a lot, I'm clumsy a lot, and I say the F-word A LOT.

I like dogs more than I like most people, and I don't trust anyone who doesn't drink. No, I do not live in an igloo, and no, the sun does not set for six months out of the year, there's your Alaska lesson for the day. I have mermaid hair - both a curse and a blessing - and most of the time I talk so fast, even I can't understand me.

Yeah. I think that about sums me up.

Release Blitz: Second Chance Charmer by Brighton Walsh

Second Chance Charmer by Brighton Walsh Publication Date: March 19th, 2018 Genre: Contemporary Romance

Willow Haven’s content. Okay, that’s a lie, but she has tried her damndest. Trouble is, it never sticks. Second oldest in a family her town was named after, she’s always felt the pressure. From the townspeople, from her sisters, but most of all from her daddy—the original Good Old Boy and Havenbrook’s reigning mayor. The only time she didn’t feel that stress had been those blissful months spent in the arms of the resident bad boy. The same one who broke her heart beyond repair when he left without a word.
Life hasn’t come easy for Finn Thomas. He’s had to claw and fight for everything he’s ever had—and truth be told, it hasn’t been much. He spent the first eighteen years of his life living so far from the wrong side of the tracks, he couldn’t even see them through his trailer window. The only thing that ever came easy for him and made his sorry ass happy was the one girl he loved with all his heart. And the one thing he had no choice but to leave behind.
When an opportunity arises to return to his tiny, southern hometown and open the first bar in a formerly dry county, he jumps at the chance. That won’t win him points with the mayor, who’s hell bent on making Finn’s life a nightmare for sullying his namesake. Too bad for Mayor Haven, Finn’s got his sights set on more than just the town, and this time he won’t be scared off quite so easily.

Meet Brighton:
Brighton Walsh spent nearly a decade as a professional photographer before deciding to take her storytelling in a different direction and reconnect with her first love: writing. When she’s not pounding away at the keyboard, she’s probably either reading or shopping—maybe even both at once. She lives in the Midwest with her husband and two children, and, yes, she considers forty degrees to be hoodie weather. Her home is the setting for frequent dance parties, Lego battles, and more laughter than she thought possible.

Review: Twisted Palace - Erin Watt

Twisted Palace (The Royals, #3)

Review: Twisted Palace - Book #3 The Royals Series - Erin Watt - October 2016
At the end of Book #2, we were left with two major cliffhangers; the first was that Reed Royal was accused of murdering Brooke who was his father's fiancee and Steve O'Halloran turned up when he was supposed to have died nine months ago.  Twisted Palace works with those two storylines. With Steve back, he wants to be in Ella's life more and seems that he is ready to play Dad but can she handle living under his roof especially when he seems to go from manic to overbearing father even to the point where he gets her fired from her job. The job she loves so much that she only just managed to get back after her time she ran away. During the majority of this book, we read as it's looking more and more like Reed Royal will be heading to jail. I have to admit when the "real" killer was revealed, I was shocked but then it later made sense. I have to admit I am glad we won't be seeing much of Steve after this book as I really hated his character and took a strong disliking to him and I was so happy that Ella went back to live with the Royals at the end as Callum had become more of a father that she never had. Unlike the previous books, this one had a real strong focus on Reed, Ella and Steve, and Callum rather than the other brothers and their girls.  Out of the three books I have to read, I have to admit that this particular one wasn't a favorite but I am now looking forward to reading Book #4 Fallen Heir which is Easton's story. He is my second favorite of the brothers, and I did notice that there is a 3.5 - Tarnished Crown which is Gideon's and Savannah's story which we know ended with Dinah blackmailing them both.

Review: Three Empty Words - Gen Ryan

Three Empty Words

Review: Three Empty Words - Gen Ryan - September 2017

Melanie Smith is one of the most selfless women there is, and I loved that about her. It is very rare that I find myself strongly connecting to the female character, but in this book, I loved everything about her and admired her. Melanie's ex-boyfriend whom she thought was the one turned out to be gay and then instead of being angry and hating him. She embraced his new choice and even welcomed his partner Jason into her life. She even continued to work with her ex-boyfriend and his new husband, Jason. Melanie's other best friend Brad is also gay. Max and Jason want a baby, but because of all the obstacles standing in their way, they ask Mel to be their surrogate. Mel agrees which made me admire her even more and goes along to the gyno's office where she meets the Dr. Ashe. Ashe always wanted a family, and he too has a big heart, but love for him chucked him awful luck as his ex-wife cheated on him and loved drugs more than him and his family are holding him ransom with his dream. Ashe and Mel click, and soon we see them enjoying life together, and it seems like nothing can tear this couple apart as Melanie becomes friends with his ex-wife and seems even to break his mother. You know those type of people who just have a naturally good heart and don't judge, that was Melanie Smith. If you want a good-hearted read with a genuine female lead, then check out Gen Ryan's Three Empty Words as it will not disappoint.

Review: Circus Freak - Erin Lee

Circus Freak (Escape From Reality Series Book 8)

Review: Circus Freak - Book #8 Escape from Reality Series - Erin Lee - December 2017
I would probably advise people to read this book before Smoe as it did kind of work in hand and hand with it and there were a lot of crossovers. Lately, I have been reading Erin Lee's carnival series and after reading Smoe figured I would go to Circus Freak before reading Martha's story. Those who have read Smoe will remember Cat's retelling of killing not only Rusty but also doing Madame's bidding and getting rid of Andre. Being short seems to be a burden for Cat, and she seems only to be able to get out her anger by killing. The other thing I loved about this book was the ending where Erin Lee tied in both her Circus Freaks series and the Escape from Reality series with the last Circus stop being in Escape, Colorado. One reason I love reading about books like this is that in New Zealand, we don't get circuses or carnivals as such here and I have to live via stories like Erin Lee's Circus Freaks. If you loved stories about the people in the Carnivals and been enjoying the Escape from Reality series, then Circus Freak by Erin Lee is the read for you. So what are you waiting for, Step right into Circus Freak and get reading?
